About

The practice of C2C Consulting Engineers changed its trading name from De Villiers Partnership Civils in 2006. As De Villiers Partnership Civils, the practice primarily came about after the well-established practice of Vennootskap De Villiers, known for the landmark structures throughout Cape Town, required suitable professional and technical expertise to do the civil components of their projects.

The name change occurred in 2006 and in 2013 C2C Consulting Engineers celebrated its 10th anniversary. C2C has a close working relationship with various Consulting Engineers in South Africa. We receive active support from our associates with regard to both business and professional skills. Errol van Amsterdam, the owner and managing member, holds a Masters Diploma in Technology (CPUT) and a Master's Degree in Engineering Management (UCT). He is professionally registered with ECSA.

C2C has identified and vigorously pursues the following strategic objectives:
• To provide and maintain a constant emphasis on cost effective engineering designs and solutions.
• To be creative in our engineering thinking, seeing the big and small, built and social picture.
• To be innovative in our designs, solutions, systems and methodologies.
• And not least of all reliable, in looking after the interests of our clients, in the speed of delivery and correctness of design.
C2C believes that good quality control improves performance and as such has structured and manages its operational practice systems to the standard of ISO 9001 accreditation. We can also rely on design aids such as a topical engineering reference index, an 'in house' developed civil engineering design manual.
C2C Consulting Engineers has HDI ownership by Errol van Amsterdam who is also registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Technologist. We also actively promote employment of people from previously historically disadvantaged backgrounds. We have Level 1 BBBEE Certification.
C2C holds professional registrations with the following professional organisations: CESA, SABTACO, SABS and our staff also hold registrations with ECSA, SAICE, IPET, SARF, SOCSAT, et al.

Understanding the benefits of education, we support all opportunities to encourage staff in furthering their education. C2C Consulting Engineers are excited at potential work opportunities involving the upliftment of communities and are eager to continue support for such causes through the practice. In 2000 Errol authored and published (via Juta) Construction Materials for Civil Engineers, and Construction Methods for Civil Engineers. These books are used as prescribed text books at all academic institutions offering Civil Engineering in the country. The second edition of both books were completed and published in 2013. He also updated the Labour Intensive Construction (LIC) Manual for the EPWP Department in 2014.

We annually host high school learners during vacation periods who want to learn more about Civil Engineering and we are often called upon to do presentations at schools, encouraging learners to enter the Engineering field of study.

We strive to create an environment where potential is identified and nurtured as part of career planning and development.
C2C believes in networking and building strong lasting relationships. Furthermore, we also have liaisons with the Black Empowered entities. These joint ventures are particularly mutually beneficial in such a competitive industry.

We also regularly sub contract the services of other engineering specialists in the fields of Land Surveying, Testing Laboratories, Electrical, Mechanical, Architectural and other engineering services.
